Hooking up one keyboard to two computers?
#245 by briantech (1.0000) posted on 8:58am Friday, July 31st, 2009
Is there some way to hook up one keyboard and mouse to two different computers?
[Q]

And somehow have it know that when your mouse cursor hits the edge of one screen, to move it to the other computer and transfer focus?

I've seen it before, but I think it works over IP. Likely too slow to be very useful. I'm pretty sure the software had some cool features though, like drag and drop files..

Could have been a dream.

Atoms. They're the tiny little building blocks of the universe. They join up to make molecules, which join up to make a hardware device that you would plug this keyboard thing into.

Well actually I was thinking you could do it over USB
[Q]

just plug a USB cable between the two computers. Plug the keyboard and mouse into the master computer, have some kind of software running on both computers that knows when to start sending the input signals to the other computer.
[Q]

Then its just a software solution and a USB cable that you can buy anywhere.
